My perfect Halloween night started at a cozy french cafe on 6th Avenue & 11th Street, and while munching on a tasty steak Au Poivre, pomme frites and green beans, I had the pleasure of watching the entire parade pass right outside the window next to our table for 4. The 2011 Halloween Parade will took over New York City’s Greenwich Village on Oct. 31 for a wild night of costumed fun. The parade route started at Sixth Avenue and Spring St. and ended at 16^th St.

Over 50,000 costumed participants joined together with giant puppets, dancers, and more than 50 bands. The event was recently added to the “100 Things to do Before You Die” list and is one of the biggest public celebrations in the United States.

I wasn’t in the mood for a major makeover but spiced things up with dark makeup and edgy accessories (which you can’t see here lol) for a ROCK ‘n’ ROLL barbie getup. My friends and I later managed to crash Heidy Clum’s 12th Annual Halloween bash – which was an unexpected highlight of the entire evening – hands down.
